Barbara and David Blumenthal Scholarship Fund
The Barbara and David Blumenthal Scholarship was established in 2010 by Barbara and David Blumenthal KOGOD/MBA ’69. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial support to deserving graduate student(s) enrolled in the Master of Business Administration program in the Kogod School of Business at American University, with preference to students who have chosen a concentration in either marketing or international business.
Income from the fund will be awarded annually in accord with the University’s financial aid policies to student enrolled in at least six credit hours per semester in the MBA program with preference given to students who have chosen a concentration in either marketing or international business. Eligible applicants must demonstrate strong academic and professional potential by having completed an undergraduate degree at an accredited institution with a grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale), and with at least one strong letter of recommendation from an academic instructor or professional supervisor.
Scholarships awarded by the Fund will e applied to the cost of attending the University. In accord with University policy, the Scholarship will be renewed from year to year. Once a scholarship has been awarded to a student, that student will continue to receive the Scholarship for each academic year so long as the student is enrolled at the University and meets the University’s eligibility requirements for scholarship assistance. New scholarship recipients will be chosen as the eligibility of prior recipients expires and the income from the Fund permits.
