Abdul Aziz Said Graduate Scholarship Fund in the School of International Service
The Abdul Aziz Said Graduate Scholarship Fund in the School of International Service was established in 2007 in honor of Professor Abdul Aziz Said, founder and director of the International Peace and Conflict Resolution Division (IPCR), to provide scholarship support to a full or part-time American University student who is pursuing a master’s degree in the IPCR program.
Income from the Fund will be used to provide a scholarship to an American University full or part-time student who is pursuing a M.A. in International Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR). The IPCR Scholar must show strong academic achievement at the graduate level, and maintain a 3.5 GPA to renew the scholarship. By March 1 each year, the IPCR Director and 2 IPCR faculty members in SIS will select a pool of qualified scholarship candidates and forward their names to the Abdul Aziz Said Scholarship Fund Steering Committee. The committee will make the final selection by March 15 and the Division of International Peace and Conflict Resolution at SIS will notify the student of his/her selection by April 1. Note that the support allocated to any student account will replace a current financial need.
